We
have large (TL) 8' high x 14' x 7' and smaller (TS) 7' high
x 13' x 7' tents with single (front opening) or dual, side
openings. Extra poles are provided for the Merchant Trader
version of the dual opening tent with guy ropes.
These tents are the three-pole type (two vertical and one
Horizontal) and are held up by the pegs around the base rather
than ropes. These are very stable. The poles are 2" diameter
hardwood, with metal sleeves to break down into lengths below
5' for ease of transport. The poles are further treated with
linseed oil to preserve and strengthen.
The tents are a coloured, water-resistant canvass done in
material widths of less than 18" (believed to be the
max. loom size used in the middle ages) and are available
in a range of the gaudy colours believed popular at the time.
All are bell-ended at both ends.
All
tents include extra thick water repellant central groundsheet
and metal pegs and poles unless the £40 off option is
selected.
Tents
were probably restricted to fairly rich travelers in the Middle
Ages (the poor couldn't afford to go anywhere) and they would
probably have been waterproofed with pig or mutton fat. Our
trader tents make excellent garden furniture for summer parties
and we suggest you use a tarpaulin to keep the underside of
the groundsheet clean
Please note that all canvass is flammable and you should keep
naked flame well away from these products.
Ancient
Battle Crafts can make tents to any size shape or colour,

This
charming little gadget is made from cast-iron and designed
to burn charcoal in a manner that will not risk damaging lawns.
Even so, we suggest that a stable, stone-slab base is used
for maximum safety and
Children are kept well clear. A good charcoal fire will boil
a kettle in a few minutes. The upper grill and carrying handle
can both be removed.
